Bianca Lucas

Bianca has been practicing yoga for over 20 years with time spent in Iyengar, Ashtanga, Hatha, Restorative and Yin yoga.

It was her GP who suggested yoga and as a young 20 something year old, she gravitated towards a more dynamic practice. After injuring herself in a car accident, Bianca started to explore the more therapeutic aspects of yoga in the Iyengar tradition and has since moved towards Hatha yoga.

She has an established personal asana, pranayama and meditation practice and yoga has been the anchor through all of life's ups and downs.

In her classes, you can expect an integrated practice with tradition intact. She will be running beginner courses.

Nigel Jones

Nigel is an advocate for the benefits of mindfulness in improving our well-being and life satisfaction.

He has trained in a range of meditation practices including Transcendental Meditation in the early 1980’s and in the 1990’s the Silva Method, which uses meditation, visualisation and guided imagery to help access and achieve our true potential.

10 years ago he joined Perth’s Living Philosophy School where he re-discovered the benefits of meditation, encountered mindfulness and spent a number of years facilitating courses in meditation, mindfulness and spirituality.

Nigel is the Chair of the not-for-profit that runs our Hub and his courses and guided meditation sessions incorporate ancient wisdom, modern science, and positive psychology.

Meditation and spiritual inquiry has enriched Sandra’s life over the last 15 years.

Her meditation classes take you on a journey to the deep and quiet places within us all.

Sandra has spent time living and working in Sri Lanka where she was first introduced to Buddhism and undertakes ongoing Vipassana retreats with the Perth Insight Meditation Group.

Spending most of her adult life wandering and learning, Vicki has travel to Africa, Central Asia and India. Her passion lies in Yoga and Somatics.

Her own journey with long term chronic pain eventually led her to a Clinical Practitioner in Somatics. Vicki is certified in Somatic Movement Education and wants to share this valuable information with as many people as possible as these techniques have transformed her life both physically and mentally.

Somatic Movement can help anyone and is accessible to all - as long as you have the capacity to lay flat, you can participate. If you've had no relief from the usual treatments such as heat, massage or ice packs then Somatic Movements could be the solution for you. You will learn how to release painfully contracted tight muscles and regain a greater range of motion in addition to holding an upright posture.

Meath Conlan

Meath has been engaged in contemplative and meditation practices in Christian and Buddhist traditions since the 1970’s. In January 1985 while in India, Meath took guidance from two Zen Masters - H. Enomiya Lassalle, and Ama Samy - both Jesuits. Thereafter Meath became a regular meditator in the Zen tradition, while remaining in the Christian tradition.

Meath’s main focus is on the teachings of independent Zen Master Ama Samy, who trained in Japan with his Master Yamada Koun Roshi, a Master who was profoundly open to Christians. The teachings are rooted in Christianity and Zen, and is said to stand in between Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity.

Thomas' Tai Chi journey began over 15 years ago in Hong Kong in the Chen style.

He later trained in Grandmaster Pek Hua’s school under Shifu Antonio Young, with lineage in the Yang and Wu styles.

Thomas’ exposure to these different styles of Tai Chi and subsequent studies and trainings have brought him back to a more classical approach with the Qigong methodology.

Alain Bernay

Alain discovered the teachings of the Buddha 27 years ago. He has spent 10 years in the Mahayana Tibetan tradition and an additional 13 years in the Theravada tradition (BSWA). Although no longer affiliated to any tradition, Alain is extremely committed the dhamma as a means to methodically transform yourself.

He brings his depth of experience and wisdom with the teachings of the Buddha as a means of personal transformation. Alain's teachings stem from his own personal experience in the application of dhamma.

Rocco Jarman

Rocco is a Perth based poet, artist and stoic philosopher whose work and teachings seek to gracefully develop a healthy relationship with self and other. He believes bringing the light of understanding and self acceptance into the darkest landscapes of our inner thoughts does more to lift our gaze from a low horizon, than all the many ways in which we seek respite and try to fill the holes within.

Blazia is an experienced teacher who has been practicing yoga for over 7 years.

Her passion for yoga is portrayed in her classes and her unique ability to adapt sequences based on the needs of participants. She enjoys the freedom and calmness that comes with teaching Yin and Vinyasa, and loves expressing her creativity on the mat!

Blazia strives to keep the practice of yoga mindful for “yoga without mindfulness is just an exercise class” and is driven by "the power of now - being in the moment." Grounded by that principle, her classes are light-hearted and fun.

David Prescott

David has been involved with meditation, spiritual awareness, reducing stress and the importance of harmonising the body, mind and spirit for many years.

To experience spirituality in a culture where it was still dynamic and part of life, in 1978 he journeyed  to India and spent time in an Ashram. From that experience he has taught meditation that is neutral and compatible with Western culture.

David now practices and teaches the Pathlight Meditation to help and support others in  their mental health.

David has been meditating regularly for many years and meditates to be in touch with, and guided by, his true spiritual self.

Through a regular practice he has noticed many differences in the way he feels and a greater compassion for others.  This motivates him to inspire people to try meditation practice and experience changes in their own lives.

Michael Hara

Michael Hara is an experienced counsellor, educator and meditation teacher. He has travelled extensively including transformative experiences with yogic practice in India and Bali that he has continued through his life.

Living and working in Aboriginal communities gave him a deep appreciation and respect for an ancient culture that includes use of language and the respectful use of the Didgeridoo; traditionally called the Yidaki. These experiences have served to provide much reflection on the nature of existence and consciousness.

He lives simply near the ocean with a holistic approach of well-being and love to nourish the body, mind and spirit. He makes his offering through Mindfulness and sound immersion to allow people to bring a grounding and resonating experience into their everyday lives.

Mini is a Heartfulness meditation trainer and has been practicing Heartfulness Meditation for over 20 years.

The concept that attracted her towards this practice is the bird with two wings. One wing is the material life and the other wing the spiritual life. Balancing it with a sense of purpose the destination is “home”.
