What is Meditation?

Meditation is a training exercise for the mind. It helps us develop a steadier and deeper concentration that ultimately allows us to experience inner peace, stillness and clarity of mind.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a cultivated state of attentive awareness developed parallel to meditative concentration. It helps untangle and open our mind to better observe and understand our thoughts and reality rather than be constantly engaged in them and unaware.

The Learn Mindfulness Meditation course teaches a variety of mindfulness meditation techniques over four weekly classes.

During each class we learn about a separate technique with majority of the class focused on practicing the technique.

Additionally each class provides an opportunity to ask questions and discuss your experience of the meditation technique.

Duration :4 weeks - 1.5 hr class each week.

Breath
Using our breath to train our mind and develop meditative concentration. With practice, we can experience inner peace, stillness and clarity of mind.
Metta
Develops acceptance, loving kindness, friendliness, equanimity, empathy & compassion for ourself and others. This additionally helps us to sustain our mindfulness.
Walking
Learn to develop meditative concentration using the alternate walking meditation posture. This technique is particularly effective for stabilising the mind before a seated meditation practice.
Noting
This simple techniques helps us improve our mindfulness through noting experiences occurring within our field of awareness.
