What is Meditation?

Meditation is a training exercise for the mind. It helps us develop a steadier and deeper concentration that ultimately allows us to experience inner peace, stillness and clarity of mind.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a cultivated state of attentive awareness developed parallel to meditative concentration. It helps untangle and open our mind to better observe and understand our thoughts and reality rather than be constantly engaged in them and unaware.

The Benefits of Mindfulness Meditation

Together Mindfulness & Meditation help us develop the wisdom to guide our mind & health back into states of balance, equanimity and much more.

Mindfulness & Meditation is recommended for everyone. They are particularly effective for those with a busy or restless mind, or those suffering from stress, anxiety, mental/emotional issues, and so on.

Glenn Maccallum

Glenn believes that one’s living life, outside meditation is just as important as their meditation, because life mirrors your spiritual path and associated practices. He believes that a virtuous life is the path to spiritual wisdom and the path is just as important as the destination.

Glenn would go into various meditative states not knowing what they were as a child. At age 19, he joined the Theosophical Society in Victoria, where his mentor introduced him to different meditation techniques and he learnt about a range of meditative states and spiritual practices.

After the passing of his mentor, Glenn solo practiced for around 20 years and primarily studied Buddhism. 12 months ago he came to the hub and is presently guiding and helping all who are interested. "The Hub is a fantastic place where people can come share their insights and spiritual perspectives with like-minded people."

Testimonials

“Mindfulness Meditation Hub is my lab for self-exploration and evolution works. The space is formed by continuous group mediation practice and is a superconductor to deep, powerful and meaningful meditation in a short time of a session.

The hub founder is my teacher and guide as my path begun with a “Learn to meditate” course. At the time, I couldn’t even imagine that I would use meditation as my prime instrument in life to evolve, change my circumstances, solve work issues, make my family a source of love and power, find my path and have energy to realise my ideas. Yet, here I am doing all of it and intending to do even more.”A. A.

“I want to say thank you (to all instructors) for being so welcoming and friendly. I’m sure it is all a product of your meditation and mindfulness, but you all share a common calming warmth about you.

I meet new people everyday in the sessions but I have never felt such instant connections to people which I’m sure is the cause of a relaxing and expressive environment.

Above all, as a student and always having to be weary about my expenditures, I just want to thank you for making all the opportunities you offer affordable.

I look forward to being a part of this positive community in the future. “B. G.

“Thank you for so many things. Your enthusiasm, your calmness, your aura of peace and your willingness to give of yourself. I’ve enjoyed this beginning to the wonderful world of meditation so much. Thank you.”S. F.
“I just wanted to say a big thank you from the both of us the past few weeks have been very enlightening we feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to spend the time with you and the group in a room filled with such beautiful energy.”A. S.
“I feel blessed to have literally fallen into the Hub’s incredible space and energy. I have been practising meditation for over 5 years but recent challenges in my life have proven difficult to manage and I needed to find other tools to achieve a peace of mind.

In the short time … 2 weeks to be exact, that I have been guided by the facilitator, I have found that the Mindfulness meditation technique, in particular the Metta – Loving Kindness meditation has provided the clarity and strength I needed to respond to these challenges. I am so grateful for the experience and look forward to the journey ahead.”M. A.

“The four week course gives beginners an excellent introduction to the practice of meditation… what it’s all about and what it can do for you. I’d highly recommend it for anyone starting out.

Classes always provide a wonderfully friendly and supportive atmosphere, in which both the instructor and participants can share their meditation experiences and learn from each other.

Our instructor is fantastic, he genuinely cares about the art of meditation and helping others to discover the benefits and self-knowledge which can be gained by long-term practice.”M. H.

“I find that the sharing of our experiences immediately following the meditation brings into focus, deepens, expands and often gives real substance and form to what might only be fleeting glimpses if not shared.

I am not a good ‘sharer’ – so I really appreciate the gentle, nurturing and supportive vibration that is always, for me, present in the room.

Santi, santi, santi.”C. W.
